MID-CHESHIRE College celebrates yet another success story as it is awarded the prestigious Investors in People Standard.
College principal John Reilly was delighted with the award, which was given in recognition of the strong support the college gives to its staff.
He said: "This is yet one more step in our quest to become one of the top 10 colleges in the country within the next five years.
"We will only achieve this goal by having the best staff in the sector and it's my responsibility, as principal, to ensure that they have the highest possible levels of support in terms of training and development."
He added: "Investors in People is not an easy standard to achieve, by any means. That's why I am really pleased for all the staff at Mid-Cheshire College who have worked so hard to take the College forward. This award is a testimony to their dedication and professionalism."
Julie Dowd, executive director of the Learning and Skills Council for Warrington and Cheshire presented the award last week and was impressed with the way the college had coped with several major changes.
She said: "John Reilly was appointed as the new Principal in 2002, and at that time the college was going through a period of change, with budgets being re-allocated and staff moving on to other things.
"But in spite of what was going on, John was able to motivate the staff, and everyone started to feel good about what was going on here. It takes a lead from the top to do that, but it's also important that the staff believe in the organisation they work for, and in what they are trying to do."
