Whatever happened to free speech?

REGARDING the recent Robert Kilroy-Silk incident, a recent strongly worded Parliamentary motion tabled by Andrew Rosindell MP 'Condemning the BBC for succumbing to a climate of political correctness' is long overdue.

What is at stake now is freedom of speech. How can the many citizens of this country both service personnel and civilians who fought and died for free speech be denied that right.

Whilst fanatical mullahs can rant and rave demanding death to all infidels and be rewarded with a fat giro cheque with the compliments of the taxpayer. Seems to me to be double standards here.

The facts mentioned in the article by Robert Kilroy-Silk are indisputable. I'm disgusted with the BBC for taking his show off the air. Has the Beeb completely sold out to the political correctness brigade.

Suppress

Viewers and listeners are bright enough to assess his views for themselves.

As a public service broadcaster the BBC should value the freedom of speech more highly than others in the media.

By seeking to control and suppress the freely held opinions of individuals it is cutting its own throat.

And as for political correctness, my view along with the majority of the people is to designate it to Room 101 and good riddance.
