Unbeaten run halted

RYLANDS soccer team have lost their first Mid-Cheshire Soccer League game in 15 outings.

Their 3-1 defeat came at home to Poynton.

Rylands had players missing through injury or other commitments and before kick-off it was known that it was going to be a tall order against third-placed opposition.

With Rylands 2-0 down and seeming dead and buried, Lonsdale and Hickman played good soccer the length of the left side of the pitch which resulted in Lonsdale lobbing the goalkeeper from 18 yards out.

But Poynton sealed the win with their third strike.
