Promotion hopes suffer setbacks

WARRINGTON Hockey Club's second and third teams suffered setbacks to their promotion hopes this week with two poor performances.

The second team lost 6-3 away to seventh-placed West Cumbria.

With key players missing in defence Warrington could not stop the opposition's regular scoring.

The displays of youngsters Ben Schofield and Brendan Morris were the only positives of the display.

The third team suffered their worst defeat of the season with a 2-1 loss at bottom club Llandudno.

Warrington gifted Llandudno their first win of the season. The Warrington attitude of expecting a win was quickly expelled by Llandudno taking a two-goal lead in the first half and Warrington's only good play of the game resulted in a consolation goal from R Taylor in the second half.
