DATEN Hockey Club women's first team and men's second team lost their weekend matches 3-0.
The women's team were 3-0 down at half-time at Neston and piled on pressure in the second half in a gutsy attempt to claw their way back into the game.
The midfield carried the ball up to the Neston half and tried in vain to get a goal.
Helen Moffet, Debbie Holland and player of the match Beth Millman had surging runs at the Neston defence but they were unable to get through.
Daten's defence stayed firm with Jayne Jackson, Dawn Harrington, Jean Wilcox and Katie Parr keeping the young Neston payers in check. Goalkeeper Carla Metcalf saved a Neston penalty flick.
Daten will be looking to return to winning ways for this weekend's home league game against Wilmslow.
The men only had 10 players for the trip to Disbury Northern and this was down to nine men following an injury to a player.
Daten decided to defend and make it hard for Disbury to score while hoping to strike themselves on counter attacks.
Disbury managed to score three goals but Daten had good team spirit and worked well to keep the score down.
