As a result, second place now belongs to Woolston C, who returned to winning ways this week with a 7-0 demolition of Deaf Social B.

Irlam Cons moved into pole position in Division One with a 5-2 win against Walkers B.

Previous leaders Snookers A lost to GTBL A by the same score and third-placed Newton Social suffered a 4-3 defeat at the hands of Roosters C.

At the other end of the table, St Josephs' revival suffered a setback when they lost 5-2 at Alford D.

Roosters A stayed on course for the Division Two title with an impressive win against second-placed Alliance A.

Jimmy Murray lost his first game of the season as Roosters opened up an eight-point cushion at the top of the table.

Third-placed Alford B won 4-3 at Roosters D. They lead Penketh Legion B, who trounced Snookers C 6-1, by a single point.
