Halton awards are 'Ab Fab'

TV celebrity Joanna Lumley may soon be calling Halton Borough Council 'absolutely fabulous' if it wins awards for Excellence in Local Government.

The actress, famous for playing Patsy in the hit BBC comedy, is hosting the prestigious local government chronicle awards 2004 in London, and two council innovations have been nominated.

E-technology has been introduced to allow public access to online planning applications and Halton's Benefit Express has increased entitlement reviews by four times.
