Have your say on the future of Vale Royal

A DOCUMENT that could have wide-ranging effects on any future developments in Vale Royal is being put out for inspection by the public today, Wednesday.

Vale Royal Borough Council has published the first review alteration of its Local Plan document, which aims to bring it up to date with significant changes in the Government's planning policies.

It looks as far ahead as 2011 and will be a key document in considering any planning applications in the borough in that time.

The first stage of the review was back in November 2002, when the council published a Key Issues paper, which asked for residents' opinions on what should be addressed in the alterations.

More than 500 comments were received, which have in turn been incorporated into the development of the First Review Alteration.

And now that document is being given a public airing.

Clr Mark Stocks, lead councillor for environment and transport, said: "The Local Plan Alteration is a key strategy to manage future development in the borough.

"Our aim is to ensure that planning policies support the priorities identified in the Vale Royal Community Plan.

"Planning policies don't just influence the quality of our environment, they also have an influence on other areas such as community safety, accessibility to services and facilities, and the provision of new jobs and investment.

"We are therefore hoping to receive views from a wide range of people and organisations with an interest in the borough.

"We very much value their involvement."

Representations on the alteration can be made in writing to Mr J Owens, head of environmental policy, Wyvern House, The Drumber, Winsford, Cheshire, CW7 1AH, before 5pm on March 10.
