Bus link boost

A ST HELENS councillor is spearheading a campaign for a new regular bus service to St Helens and Whiston Hospitals.

Councillor John Fletcher, Executive Member for Health and Social Care says that since the old bus service was deregulated many patients have been missing vital appointments because of difficulty getting to the two hospitals on public transport.

John is taking the issue up with Merseytravel.

"It is essential that both patients and hospital visitors have access to a reliable and frequent bus service. It is especially vital to have a good bus link to Whiston Hospital at 60 per cent of its patients are from St Helens. I am in talks with Merseytravel over this very important issue".
