Council launches leaflet campaign

VALE Royal Borough Council will be taking its campaign over the future of local government straight into people's homes over the next few weeks.

It will be sending a leaflet to every home in the borough over the next three weeks detailing its proposals for the possible shake-up of the local government system, currently being considered by the Boundary Committee.

Vale Royal is in favour of creating three unitary authorities in Cheshire, which would mean it teams up with Crewe and Nantwich to take charge of all of the council services.

The leaflet, entitled Having Your Say, details the Boundary Committee's three preferred options - ranging from one, two and three unitary authorities - and explains the impacts each one would have on the county's residents.

Public consultation on the options ends on February 23.
