Parking woes in Callands

PARKING problems are still causing headaches for pedestrians at Callands Shopping Centre as motorists continue to leave their cars on the pavements.

Damaged bollards were removed from the area last summer, prompting parish councillors to submit a bid for a share of the borough council's environmental improvement fund, to try to spruce up the centre off Callands Road.

This application was unsuccessful, which means the bollards have still not been replaced and drivers are still parking their vehicles haphazardly, making it difficult for elderly shoppers and people with pushchairs.
