The Lakes is making a splash

A PURPOSE-built new facility, providing day care for children up to fours-years-old, opened in Orford last week.

The Lakes Day Nursery has been jointly designed and developed by the Lakes management and Warrington Borough Council and is in the Sandy Lane Children's Centre in Orford.

For years the area has been poorly-served for child care facilities, but with the help of Sure Start funding the Lakes is expected to solve the problem.

It promises to provide the very best of day care for children from three months to four years old in a superb facility with an excellent team of carers.

In conjunction with Family Childcare Tax Credit, care can be provided at the Lakes for as little as £7.50 a day.

Centre director, Margaret King, said: "We have been working for more than 12 months with Warrington Borough Council to design and create the very best of facilities so that parents can leave their children with us in not only a safe environment, but one that stimulates them and gives them the very best start in life.

"We are in partnership with parents and work with them to ensure that their children are happy and developing. We also provide advice, including assistance with understanding how Working Tax Credits can subsidise up to 70 per cent of child care."
