Road closures

HALTON Council would like to inform motorists of possible disruptions in Widnes, due to the closure of the southbound carriageway of Widnes Road.

This restriction is necessary to ensure the safety of road users and various contractors carrying out water main renewal at the ASDA development works.

Workmen are already carrying out repairs in Widnes Road at its junction with Vicarage Road, where temporary traffic lights are installed. These will stay in place until the work's completed.

The southbound carriageway of Widnes Road will be closed between Gerrard Street and Bryn Street and a one-way flow system introduced from Monday, January 19.

Motorists will not be able to turn left out of Gerrard Street or right out of Milton Street. Pedestrian routes will not be affected. The road closure will remain until work is complete.
