Business failed

THE director of a steel fabrication business that failed with debts estimated at £1.4m has given an undertaking not to hold directorships or take any part in company management for seven years, reports the Insolvency Service, an executive agency of the Department of Trade and Industry.

The undertaking by John Clive Howard Oldroyd, aged 63, of Clifton Road, Runcorn, was given in respect of his conduct as a director of Oldroyd Bros Ltd. Acceptance of the undertaking on December 23 prevents Mr Oldroyd from being a director of a company or, in any way, whether directly or indirectly, being concerned or taking part in the promotion, formation or management of a company for the above period.

The company was placed into voluntary liquidation on July 18, 2001 with estimated debts of £1,455,879 owed to creditors.
