Trio admit wounding charges

A MAN was shot and had part of his ear bitten off when he was attacked by three men, Chester Crown Court was told yesterday (Tuesday).

Sentence was adjourned by Judge Elgan Edwards, who described it as a "very grave case."

David Dawson, 25, of Cunningham House, Weston Point, pleaded guilty to grievous bodily harm with intent.

Paul Whiting, also 21, of Saxon Road, Runcorn, pleaded guilty to malicious wounding and Karl Steinmann, 21, of Cunningham Road in Widnes, pleaded guilty to grievous bodily harm with intent. All three also pleaded guilty to possession of a firearm.

The court heard the victim, aged 25, was in bed with his girlfriend when the three defendants burst into his home on Halton Brook in the early hours of April 9 last year.

The three defendants will be sentenced next month.
