SICK and disabled people who have had to quit jobs through ill health can now seek a new career.
Jobcentre Plus and The Workshop teamed up to give people claiming health related benefits the very latest information.
"New Deal for Disabled is a voluntary scheme whereby customers claiming health related benefits can have access to a job broker to assist them in returning to work," said Paul Plant, of Jobcentre Plus.
A special event was held at Lawson House Hotel last Friday to enable claimants to find about jobs and training.
Halton's five job brokers were on hand to offer information and advice. They represent Remploy, A4E, Local Solutions, Shaw Trust and Mencap.
Halton Voluntary Action, The Neighbourhood Travel Team, New Deal for Lone Parents and The Disability Employment Adviser were also present.
