Dancer prepares for the show of a lifetime

A SPECTACULAR dance show has picked a Northwich woman to star in its Paris line-up.

The Lido on the Champs Elysee is world-renowned for its fantastic shows, with people paying about £100 to watch the dancers' breathtaking moves.

Contract

Donna Hardern, aged 21, of Danebank Road, Witton Park, left for Paris on Monday, after signing an 11-month contract.

Auditions were held in Paris, London, Las Vegas and New York for the highly sought after places and Donna was one of only two women to be chosen for the Bluebell dance line.

There are three lines in the show, Bluebell, Bell and Principal dancers. The Bluebell line is fully clothed, with the other two lines featuring topless dancers.

Donna, who has always wanted to be a dancer, said it was a job that went beyond her wildest dreams.

Donna said: "The show is the equivalent to the Moulin Rouge. Performing in The Lido is the top of being a showgirl and I'm really lucky to have been given the opportunity to do it. It's my dream job."

Millions of pounds have been invested in the show, which even has an elephant making a guest appearance on stage.

But it requires 100 per cent commitment from the dance troupe, who will do two, two hour shows, six nights a week.

Donna said: "You do get tired but not because you are bored. There's nothing like performing and I get a real buzz from it."

Donna's mum, Lorraine Hardern, said: "She's worked so hard we are very proud of her."
