You need a map

I FEEL like this council just doesn't have any consideration for the people of this town. We haven't any decent roads and a market that used to thrive is now full of empty stalls as people can't make a decent living because rents are too high.

They need to go and visit Widnes Market and see that there are no empty stalls, a busy indoor and outdoor market and free parking.

What do we have? A town where you have to have a map to get in and out of, if you are that lucky. Visitors I know have given up because of the one-way systems. I used to be so proud of my town but not anymore. I have voted Labour all of my life but never again.

I wish someone would think of the young ones, there is nowhere for them to go. If there was, I think that there would be a lot less vandalism. Youth clubs are all closing down so that kids just hang around the streets causing havoc.

Of course, you will always get the yobbos, but the decent kids get tarred with the same brush and, after all, they are the voters of tomorrow.

Mrs Shuttleworth, Lingholme Road, St Helens.
