Who on earth thought up this bus lane lunacy?

ONCE again the planners in St Helens have surpassed themselves... namely the bus lanes on Marshalls Cross.

How anybody in their right mind could think of putting bus lanes where hardly any buses run, but where most of the workers and shoppers need a clear road.

Instead they get stuck behind traffic and look to their left and see an empty lane. Surely the bus companies don't own half our roads?

The people of St Helens are entitled to an explanation of why these ridiculous plans are implemented. Not only are these plans foolish they could cause accidents.

Within the first week of December a car was virtually wrote off outside Sutton Timber, probably out of frustration.

Moving on from the traffic problems, hopefully the rumours going round about the closure of more old folks homes and setting up a type of care in the community system is just a rumour and not a preview of things to come.

Let us in the New Year open up the roads to out shopping centre and all the councillors look after the people of this town. We need you to lead from the front.

Happy New Year everyone.. G McNicholas, Crawford Street, Clock Face.
