Latchford boost their title chances

Latchford Albion 22

Bamber Bridge 10

LATCHFORD Albion boosted their title hopes in North West Counties Amateur Rugby League Division Two with a classy win against Bamber Bridge.

The visitors opened the scoring with a try in their first set of six tackles but Latchford never looked back after levelling matters with a John Donno touch down.

Gavin Bishop added the extras and Latchford took a vice-like grip on the game with a further try by Donno and two Vinny Reardon scores.

Ian Marsden and Mike Bishop did the groundwork for Donno's tries while Reardon's touch downs were set up by Andy Dean and Russ Parkman.

Gavin Bishop failed to convert on only one occasion.

He was one of Latchford's best performers along with Matty Patterson, Marsden, Mike Bishop, Rearden and Kris Buckley.

Latchford A 8

Weaverham 7

LATCHFORD's A team emerged victorious from a low scoring game with a nail-biting finale in North West Counties Amateur Rugby League Division Six.

Weaverham boast some of the league's biggest hitters but Latchford's forwards were up to the challenge.

Tony Humphries, Dave Potter, Mal Mason, Lyndon Taylor and Glyn Taylor were outstanding throughout and Latchford secured victory with tries by Ryan Barns and Mason.
