Beechwood still unbeaten

Beechwood 2

Grange Safeway 1

BEECHWOOD maintained their unbeaten start in the league by beating a well-organised Grange Safeway side.

The visitors took a first half lead with a spectacular volley.

Beechwood came close to levelling with near misses by deputy manager Walsh and Adams, before Gleave rifled home a 20-yard volley. With man of the match Derek Morris at the back Beechwood shut up shop. He had his opposite number to thank when a long clearance downfield from keeper Steve Ellison took a deflection off the centre back and the ball flew past the keeper to give Beechwood all three points.
