Come and see plans for new hospital centre

THE public is invited to see Leighton Hosptial's new treatment centre plans.

There will be an informal meeting on January 15 to allow further comment and discussion before the plans are finalised at the end of January.

The treatment centre will provide new, purpose built facilities for day surgery and improved endoscopy services.

By 2005, it is intended that 79 per cent of surgery carried out at the hospital will be undertaken as day cases that will not require an overnight stay.

The centre will allow quicker access to services, reduce waiting times and offer greater choice to patients about the times and dates when they receive care.

The meeting will run from 5.30pm to 7pm. It will be in Crewe Library and refreshments will be available.

Andy Ennis, the treatment centre implementation manager and the centre's architect will both be available to answer questions.

People who wish to attend or would like to attend should contact Sue Pickup on 01270 255141 ext 2795.
