Will this stadium funding be lost?

I HAVE just read a piece in Hansard that refers to "wholly or partly-funded projects within St Helens".

I read with interest that some £66.15million has been provided by the Government and other public funding bodies with a specific projected outcome of "Major new centres of economic activity stadium/leisure/conference centre; innovation centre to create job opportunities".

Is it correct to assume that this money is allocated to a new Saints ground? If this is the case, I also noticed that the period for funding was 1999-2000 to 2003-2004 so, can anyone tell me if this funding would be lost by the end of March next year should a deal for the new stadium fail to materialise?

Although I notice that round five of the SRB funding states that the scheme ends 2005-6, I don't know if this refers to this project or SRB schemes in general.
