In-form Latchford stay in second spot

Latchford Albion 18

Folly Lane 0

ANOTHER great win for Latchford kept them in joint second spot in North West Counties Amateur Rugby League Division Two.

In wet conditions both teams struggled to have any consistency early on but John Donno settled Latchford when he forced his way over from dummy half.

Folly Lane kept pressing but there was no submission in an ever improving Latchford defence.

On 20 mintues Kris Buckley received the ball from his centre partner Vinny Reardon and raced 75 metres to touch down.

Latchford's backs had too much pace and class for Folly and when Gavin Bishop made a break from his own 25 metres line, he kicked ahead for Russ Parkman to score his debut try.

Folly tried some strong-arm tactics in the second half but Latchford did not reply.

When Folly had one man sin-binned Latchford took advantage with Reardon releasing Gavin Bishop to score.

A Bishop penalty goal completed the scoring.

Best for Latchford were Gary Clafrey and Donno in the forwards plus Parkman, Bishop, Rearden and Marcus Gorton in the backs.
