Wids lose to mighty Macc lads

Widnes U14s 5

Macclesfield U14s 45

WIDNES were well beaten by an excellent Macclesfield side that moved the ball out to their classy backs at every opportunity scoring four first half tries.

The Wids had their moments with Newall and Winstanley going close.

Forrest and Phil Harrison worked hard in the forwards, Danny Harrison in the backs put in some outstanding tackles.

In the second half the Wids had a lot more possession, Winstanley made three good breaks, from one of them Forrest went over by the corner flag.

On the day Macclesfield were too strong, scoring two late tries to add to the earlier one in the first five minutes of the half.

Powell and Griffiths are worthy of mentions but Danny Harrison was the Wids man of the match.
