Welcome back professor

A UNIVERSITY professor returned to his roots to honour Halton students.

Professor Paul Harrison of Leeds University is a former Halton College student.

His lessons at the Kingsway Campus, he said, prepared him for his future academic career.

"At Halton College, there was a welcoming atmosphere from staff and students," said Professor Harrison. "I had to take responsibility for my own learning, but was extremely well supported by all staff.

"The quality of teaching was excellent and I thoroughly enjoyed my time here."

More than 60 students from a wide variety of subjects, including biomolecular science, engineering and childhood studies received their degrees.

Principal Ian Clinton, said: "We are all very proud of what they have achieved and are sure they will all go on to succeed in whatever path they choose."
