Festival success may lead to annual event

FRODSHAM festival was such a success that organisers are making moves towards planning another one.

Vale Royal Borough Council will meet in the New Year to consider supporting another Frodsham festival following the success of the first Christmas event.

The festival was hailed a success after expected visitor numbers were smashed and thousands flocked to enjoy the traditional festive cheer offered by the market town.

Residents, traders and councillors all felt the festival placed Frodsham well and truly on the map and were delighted in the up turn in Christmas trade the festival brought.

Frodsham has established itself as a festive shopping destination, which can offer visitors the chance to enjoy a more traditional Christmas experience, with plenty of activities to entertain the whole family.

Councillors are enthusiastic for the council to host another festival and residents and traders appear keen that the event becomes an annual date in their diaries.

Clr John Grimshaw, lead councillor for leisure at the borough council, said: "I was delighted with the success of Frodsham's first Christmas festival and believe it has brought a great amount of business and income into the town.

I am pleased the residents, traders and local councillors want to hold another festival and I hope the council is able to offer its support and assistance to ensure the next festival builds on this year's success."
