Cash prize up for grabs for Miss Davenham

THERE'S a special addition to the year 2000 celebrations in Davenham.

For Davenham Village Carnival Committee has organised a Miss Davenham 2000 competition for this year only - with a prize of £50 for the lucky winner.

To take part you must be aged 16 or over this year and be available to take part in the carnival on Saturday August 5.

Miss Davenham 2000 will be chosen at the Valentine Disco social evening at the British Legion, Firth Fields, Davenham, on Saturday February 12.

One of the organisers, Barbara Jones, said: "This should be an enjoyable night and everyone is welcome to the Valentine disco, not just carnival entrants."
