SERVICE WITH A SMILE

BIG-HEARTED shop assistants throughout Halton still go out of their way to give top class service.

That's the reassuring message we've received from World readers after inviting you to nominate your favourite shop assistant.

Our Service with a Smile promotion has attracted entries from all sorts of retail outlets - newsagents, butchers, travel agents, bakeries, supermarkets, corner shops and market stalls.

This week, we received several nominations for Paula Martin, assistant manageress of Lunn Poly in Albert Road, Widnes.

Mrs Wain, of Hale village, said: "Paula is alwas smiling and happy at work. She is also very helpful and good at her job."

Monica McKibbon, of The Calvers, Halton Brow, Runcorn, nominated Linda Stafford who works at Dillons in Halton Lea.

She said:"She is one in a million."

Christine Thompson, of Frederick Street, Widnes, nominated Dot Noon who works at Yard Q News in Widnes Road.

She said: "She is always friendly, always has time for her customers and pleasant to be served by."

Mrs Horne, of Woodhatch Road, Brookvale, Runcorn nominated Ann, a cashier at Tesco in Halton Lea. May Meakin, of The Uplands, Palacefields, also chose Ann. She said:"Please choose Ann. She is the nicest lady I have ever known."

Judges will now have the daunting task trying to select a winner who will receive £100 and runner-up £50.
