RELATIVE VALUES

A WOMAN has appealed to World readers for help in finding her relatives.

Cathy Trett has already carried out extensive research tracing her family tree and discovered that many of her relatives lived in Widnes.

Her great-grandmother Elizabeth Ratcliffe, who died in April 1886, is buried in St Luke's churchyard, Farnworth.

She had nine daughters - two of them emigrated to America - and one son called Raymond.

He lived at the top of Church Street (now Farnworth Street) with his wife Sarah and four daughters and five sons, who were all recorded in the 1891 Widnes census return.

Raymond and his father Richard were both coopers by trade.

"A member of the Widnes Family History Group has sent me a copy of Ratcliffe telephone numbers, but there are so many," said Cathy, a member of a local family history society in Middlesex.

Anyone with information can contact Cathy Trett at 136 Glebe Avenue, Ickenham, Uxbridge, Middlesex UB10 8PG.
