CORRUPTION CHARGE

A HOUGH Green man was in the dock yesterday (Tuesday) together with the former deputy head of the Merseyside drug squad on a charge of corruption.

Lee Whittaker, 25, of Warkworth Close, faces trial at Preston Crown Court along with Det Ch Insp Tony Doyle, 48.

Whittaker and his co-accused, who was head of South Sefton CID, were arrested last September.
