THE Euro is the biggest threat to our right to live in a nation state since the two world wars.
How many people in this land want a new currency forced on them? Why will we need our own parliament when we are going to be controlled from Brussels?
At least we can vote our own government out if we wish. We can't get rid of these panjandrums who are daily taking over our lives. Why should the likes of Jacques Santer demand this and that of Great Britain?
In the 1970's, the pro-Europeans believed membership of the EEC would make travel and trade easier.
What lies we were told. Step by step every aspect of our heritage is being eroded. This is not what our fathers and grandfathers fought two wars for.
Anybody that questions this relentless march to a European superstate is labeled a Europhobe or a Little Englander. Yet supporters of this shambolic institution cannot produce any real evidence of what the British people have gained from it, except to put billions of pounds into its coffers.
The only thing they trumpet, parrot fashion, is that we haven't had conflict between the old adversaries for 50 years - thanks to the EC. Codswallop. NATO formed in 1949, and a common threat, the old USSR, is the reason why peace has reigned for so long.
I think George Orwell was about 41 years out when he titled his novel 1984.
He should have called it 2025. By that time this country will have ceased to exist as we know it.
I believe plans we are on the way to becoming just an administrative region of Europe.
I wish those who say there is no alternative will take into account what is happening in the Balkans and in the former Soviet Union.
In those areas, people with long histories were absorbed into cobbled together nations.
