Always up in the air

I SUPPOSE elections do sometimes bring out the silly side of people but some public pronouncements by the Lostock Liberals take the biscuit.

Only a few weeks after their colleagues on the borough council voted for the council's budget with no objections whatsoever, they now say we waste money.

They say we shouldn't be providing information about the council's services, or providing the Mobile Information Unit which takes information out to rural areas or promoting Vale Royal as a place to visit and set up business.

In return for scrapping all this and making seven people redundant (no costs mentioned) they believe they can run professional youth clubs for less than £8,000 a year.

Who are they kidding! They seem to be like UFOs - always up in the air and never seem to be in the same place twice.

ARTHUR NEIL

Leader of Vale Royal Borough Council.
