Did he - or didn't he?

THE leading article in the Guardian of May 5 states "Martin Bell carried out his public duties over the Bank Holiday weekend - despite receiving a death threat."

The Chronicle of the same date carries a headline on page 5 "Martin Bell cancels visit to estate after death threat." Surely it is not beyond the capabilities of the reporters of our two local papers to agree on the simple fact of whether our MP did or did not carry out his public duties.
