Search for Witton memorabilia

WITTON ALBION fans aiming to recapture the club's past glories are searching for five very special pieces of history.

The supporters' association is trying to convert the club gym into a museum and shop - but needs your help. If you have any information about the following objects, please ring Jim Powell on 01606 79179.

Diamond Jubilee celebration medal presented to Witton by Sir Joseph Verdin. The silver medal was inscribed with the words Northwich District Charity Football Comp 1896-97.

Ceremonial key presented to JFL Brunner MP by Clr Finestone, then club president, to mark opening of new ground in 1910.

Ceremonial scissors used to cut club colours tied across gangway on opening of new stand in 1927.

Scissors presented to Mr J McMyn by Harry Harper on the opening of new dressing rooms and facilities in 1934.

Oak shield momento made in Stalag 344, a German POW camp, won by British soldiers playing under Witton's name.
