WEMBLEY STAR'S GRANDSON ON THE RISE

THE grandson of a Wembley Challenge Cup star is making a name for himself in Rugby League.

Thirteen-year-old Ben Hart, of Division One champions Woolston Rovers under 14s, made his first appearance for North West Counties against Yorkshire on Sunday. The Warrington Wolves scholarship player was the only boy from the town in the team.

Ben, who attends Bridgewater High School, is the grandson of Henry Delooze, who began his pro career with Wire and lives in Appleton.

Second rower Delooze, who made 53 appearances for Warrington between 1960 and 1966, played for Barrow when they lost 17-12 to Featherstone Rovers at Wembley in the 1967 Challenge Cup final. The 56-year-old went on to finish his career at Rochdale.

Ben's mum Sally says: "Like his granddad, Ben plays in the second row. His grandad follows him everywhere and helped to coach him early on, passing on his pearls of wisdom."
