Patent to put freeze on costs

REFRIGERATED transport companies could make savings of thousands of pounds a year as a result of a venture by Business Link, Warrington.

It has provided backing for the development of a new body panel for refrigerated vehicles.

The new product, called Panelite, is being manufactured by DevTex of Warrington. It is thinner and 50 per cent lighter than materials currently used to build refrigerated vehicle bodies.

It will enable companies to increase their carrying capacity and will also save on diesel.

Sandra Brusby, chief executive of Business Link, said: "Panelite will be sold to builders of refrigerated vehicles bodies who meet high standards of manufacture and service and who obtain our approval to use the panels."
