Europe goes on the agenda

BUSINESSES in Winsford and Middlewich can find out more about how the introduction of the Euro might affect them by attending a seminar in Northwich next month.

Vale Royal Borough Council has teamed up with Euro expert Tony Shaw to organise the seminar, which takes place at the Salt Museum on May 18, from 5pm to 7pm.

The seminar will cover the background, timetable and implications of the Euro for local companies.

Tony, author of a number of guides to the Euro, said: "Some companies expect to deal in the Euro even though they do not export or import.

"Their customers' intentions are what decides the issues. If this happens they are exposed to exchange rate fluctuations which need careful management if losses are not to be incurred.

"Euro-creep puts businesses under threat of losing sales as the Euro creeps in through the back door."

For further details on the seminar, or to reserve a place, contact Iain Paton at Vale Royal Borough Council on 01606 867525.
