WILDERSPOOL CAPACITY INCREASED

WILDERSPOOL Stadium's capacity has been boosted to 9,000 this week - just in time for the arrival of the Bulls army and to meet the demands of a special children's promotion.

The Warrington Wolves' ground has been given health and safety approval to accommodate an extra 1,700 supporters after additional crush barriers were put into the Railway End this week.

With up to 4,000 Bulls supporters expected to make the trip across the Pennines and with close to 5,000 fans watching Warrington's last home game against Gateshead Thunder every inch of space is likely to be required.

Warrington chiefs want to turn the tide on Bradford, whose supporters created an intimidating atmosphere for visiting teams, and are urging supporters to be passionate for their team, but are appealing to keep singing, chanting and general talking free of abusive language.

Chief executive Peter Deakin says: "Rugby League at Wilderspool is a family event and on Sunday we are having a massive kids' promotion in a lot of publications, including the Guardian, so we are appealing for people to behave themselves."

See the Peter Deakin column this week on page 54.

Juniors can gain entry to Wilderspool on Sunday for just £3 using the voucher printed at the bottom of this page.
