Phil's search into the past

PHIL Jones stepped back in time when he had a nosy in his grandad's loft.

He discovered a copy of the GUARDIAN dated March 1914, from the days when the paper was a broadsheet and was on sale on Saturday.

Phil, of Brick Street, was visiting his grandad, a former Warrington resident, at his home in Widnes when he made the surprising discovery. He also found a copy of a newspaper produced by the Sydney Stock Exchange in 1954.

Someone had made notes on the cover of the GUARDIAN about the death of a woman called Eliza Dobson. Phil says he has no idea who she is, but would be interested in finding out.
