MIXED FORTUNES

NANTWICH Town's relegation fears were eased by an impressive 3-0 win at Ramsbottom United on Saturday.

Dabbers, hovering uncomfortably close to the relegation places, took the lead through a Matt Borthwick penalty that gave them the edge at half-time before debutant Andy Gale headed home the second after the break.

Gale completed the win and a personal brace with a firmly struck goal that capped a tremendous start to his Nantwich career.

But Town faltered in the Easter Monday tie at Leek, falling to an 80th minute strike from Dave Ritchie, who capitalised on a defensive error to race through and snatch the only goal of the game.
