Why you miss the point

STUDENTS at Reaseheath College have been marshalled to defend the idea of parking charges in Delamere Forest.

Their studies may equip them to explain some of the techniques of forest management - but they are not relevant to the question at issue.

There may be visitors who come at weekends for a whole day to whom a £1 fee would be reasonable. On weekdays visitors are few and £1 would be an unreasonable charge for the hour or so they spend there exercising their dogs or their children.

As a pensioner I would no longer wish to walk there two or three times a week at a cost over £100 a year.
