Hunt to find best butties

THE HUNT is to find Britain's best butties in the 1999 British Sandwich Association Awards.

Warrington residents are being invited to nominate their favourite sandwich shops for the titles of Sandwich Bar of the Year and Baker Sandwich Maker of the Year.

These will be presented at the industry's awards ceremony in London during British Sandwich Week in May.

Judging will be based on general standards, product quality, atmosphere and appearance. Nominations could range from baker's shops to specialised sandwich bars or even more unusual venues.

Nominations should be sent by February 19 to The British Sandwich Association, 8 Home Farm, Ardington, Oxfordshire OX12 8PN.
