Healthy voice of opinion

NEWTON residents have been voicing their opinions on the creation of a new health plan for the area.

Diana Forest, the director of public health at St Helens and Knowsley, attended a meeting of Newton Community Health Forum to listen to ideas and concerns about health issues.

Janet Gittens, who co-ordinates the forum, said: "It is great that authorities are now asking for community views and ideas. These are the people that live within communities and have to depend on the services provided. They can see clearly what is affecting people's health and can identify priorities to target."

The next meeting of the Newton Community Health Forum is on Wednesday, February 10, at St John's Church Annex in Earlestown.
