Cool idea for fridges

POWER company Manweb is supporting a scheme which will enable Winsford and Middlewich customers to buy an energy efficient fridge for just £25.

It has already provided more than 3,000 fridges to customers under the scheme and in the coming months plans to help distribute a further 4,000.

The offer is part of a national Fridgesavers project which has been developed by the Energy Savings Trust and funded by Manweb along with other electricity suppliers in Britain.

In all more than 50,000 fridges will be available across the UK.

They allow customers to use less power, reducing electricity bills, on average by £30 a year. They also help the environment as well as ensuring that food stays at the correct temperature.

Customers taking up the offer must be receiving state pension or certain benefits and must already own a standard fridge with an ice box, which is in poor repair.

Fridgesavers can be contacted on 0131 554 2532.
