Book service for housebound

AN urgent appeal has been launched for more volunteers to deliver books to the housebound.

People willing to spare a couple of hours are wanted by the borough council's library service - especially in the Burtonwood, Penketh, Great Sankey, Westbrook and Orford areas.

Volunteers choose and deliver books every three or four weeks. Initial training will be given by librarians but new recruits are then expected to make the trip themselves. Contact Chris Comer or Maddy Johnson, if you can assist, on 261148.
