KITCHEN KNIFE TERROR

ARMED robbers brandishing two kitchen knives terrorised staff at a video shop.

Two men burst into the video shop in Salisbury Street, Widnes, and subjected assistants to a terrifying ordeal.

Wielding sharp blades, they threatened staff - unless they handed over cash.

The raiders fled with an undisclosed sum of money.

Widnes detectives are appealing to anyone who may have seen the incident to come forward.

The robbery happened at 9.35pm on Wednesday, January 6.

One of the robbers had his face partially covered with a scarf, his accomplice hid his face behind a hat.

The first intruder was wearing a blue waterproof jacket with a hood and dark coloured jeans. He had a wispy moustache and was aged between 20-25. His accomplice was the same age. Both men were 5ft 8ins to 5ft 10ins and spoke with local accents.

The second man was wearing a green bomber jacket and a red and white scarf.
