THE extension at Hartford's parish church has clinched a design award.

The new building, which provides seating for around 100 people and space for group activities, has won this year's North and Mid Cheshire Building Award, presented by the local Chamber of Commerce.

Chamber Chairman Peter Craven explained: "The extension was chosen for this special award because the judges believed it surpassed the other nominations in its design, fitness for purpose, quality of construction and the way it fits into its surroundings."
