Some comfort

RE your letter "Silk Flowers Taken From Memorial" from a widow and a Grandma in the GUARDIAN on December 11.

Although we read and see on television that this dispicable practice does happen, I must write to say that on a recent visit to Walton Lea on a very stormy day a large quantity of flowers - including container lids - were blowing across the road towards the chapel car park. Although one cannot say if this is what happened in this lady's case it can perhaps offer a crumb of comfort to her and her grandchildren.
