Mavis Wright

MAVIS WRIGHT (nee HUMPHRIES) Mavis Wright sadly passed away on 26th June 2014. Mavis was born in Warrington and for many years lived in Stockton Heath. She attended the Warrington High School for Girls between 1945 and 1951 then worked at the GPO as a Supervisory Telegraph Officer. In 1973 she qualified as a teacher at Padgate College, working first at Woodside Primary School in Runcorn until 1982 then Westfield Infant School in Runcorn until she was forced to retire through ill health. Mavis and her husband Cyril moved to Middlewich and spent many happy years there before his sudden death in 1990. After retirement Mavis spent time visiting her son in London and travelling extensively around the world. Her funeral was held at St Michaels Church in Middlewich on Wednesday 9th July. Mavis leaves a son, Fraser.

I was so sorry to hear of Mavis' passing away. I only nes her briefly but her late husband,Cyril, and I were in the same class at Bewsey Senior Boys' School and were best mates for several yearsinto the forces. Norman Hadland
